Visiting London? Check out a Londoners guide to the ‘must dos’ around town.
1. Visit Greenwich
Greenwich sits in Zone 2 – just 5 minutes from London Bridge on a Thameslink train or a short hop across the river from Canary Wharf – yet it feels more like an old market town than a secondary London neighbourhood. With so much to do and see and do in under one square mile, it’s well worth a day trip.
Don’t Miss: ➀ Greenwich Market (particularly on the weekend when you’ll find an incredible food market outdoors!) ➁ Tour the Cutty Sark and the Royal Observatory ➂ Take a walk around Greenwich Park and the Old Royal Naval Collage ➃ Have a drink on the Thames at Trafalgar Tavern or The Sail Loft.
Getting There: Take a Thameslink mainline train from London Bridge to Greenwich Station or Take a DLR (Docklands Light Railway) train from Canary Wharf or Take the 188 bus from North Greenwich underground station (Jubilee Line) or Take a Thames Clipper (see below) from Westminster.
2. Have a Drink with a View
If tour buses aren’t your thing then why not take in the iconic sights and landmarks of London from the comfort of one of the city’s best bars instead? In recent years, Londoners have become spoilt for choice when it comes to quality cocktails with spectacular views. Here’s a list of our favourite hotspots:
Don’t Miss: ➀ Bokan ➁ Avairy, ➂ Jin Bo Law ➃ Rumpus Room/Dandelyan, Aqua Shard, City Social, Gong at the Shangri-La, Duck & Waffle, Roof Gardens at Queen Elizabeth Hall.
